Q: I installed Hard Disk LED but it doesn't work
A: You have to reboot the computer after
the installation. Make sure that Windows 95 is configured
correctly:
1. Add new hardware, detect - Windows 95 should detect all your
drives and configure them for 32bit access
2. Click right button on "My Computer". Select
Properties, Performance. The Performance Status should say that
your system is configured for optimal performance and that your
File System uses 32bit drivers.
Q: I was wondering how I could pay for your application
A: I don't accept credit card payments yet. You can send the payment in cash, check or international money order to my address. The simplest way for over sees customers is to put a US$ cash in an envelope and mail to my address. Don't forget to mention your e-mail address. You'll receive your registration number via e-mail.
Q: It keeps demanding a serial number when I try to run setup
A: Type any number. Setup will accept it.
Q: It doesn't save my settings
A: Program settings and the registration number are saved in registry upon exit. You have to exit from the program or properly shutdown Windows.
Q: I get a "Windows protection error Error Device IOS: please restart windows"
A: Download the latest version of HDLED.VXD. Copy the file hdled.vxd to the windows\system\iosubsys directory. Reboot the computer.

Q: It works great .... but with no other device than my hard disk on IDE-channel 0.
A: HDLED monitors all physical block devices, no matter how many or on which controller. If it doesn't work with one particular drive, it's probably due to the fact that this drive uses DOS drivers. See first question for more information.
Q: Just wondering if the HDLED will work on NT 4?
A: HDLED for Windows 95 works only in Windows 95. Same with the NT version. Make sure that you have the right version for your OS.
Q: What are the priority settings about?
A: Priority option controls how accurate HDLED is. Higher priority - HDLED will be more accurate but will use more CPU time, lower priority - less accurate, but less impact on system performance.
Q: The program keeps disabling itself every 30 min or so
A: Unregistered version turns itself off every 30 minutes. When you register, this limitation will be removed.
Q: The program starts, and the light bar shows up in the taskbar, but no lights flicker
A: See first question.
A: NETLED works only with full NDIS drivers. Your card uses an NT miniport driver. I am working on a new version that will work with both types of NDIS drivers.
Q: The icons shows up on the taskbar but lights don't flash.
A: Same as above. Try Dialup connection to see NETLED in action.
Q: Just wondering if the NETLED will work on NT 4?

Q: I get a message "Network LED driver was not found"
A: There are few possible reasons:
Q: I installed NETLED but it doesn't work
A: After installing the driver you have to manually disable all protocol bindings for all network adapters you want to monitor. Run Control Panel. Select Network/Bindings/Show bindings for all adapters. Select the adapter you want to monitor. Click on the plus box (+) to see all protocols bound to this adapter. Disable all protocols but Network LED. If you use TCP/IP you will have to apply all network settings for each network adapter to the "Network LED Virtual Adapter" that replaces it.
Q: After installing NETLED and rebooting I got a message "Invalid computer name"
A: First, follow the instructions in I installed NETLED but it doesn't work. Than make sure that the Workstation service is bound only to Network LED virtual adapter.

A: First, follow the instructions in I installed NETLED but it doesn't work. Than make sure that TCP/IP settings for the "Network LED Virtual Adapter" that replaces the network adapter are correct.
